Baltic Research Foundation for Digital Resilience (DIGIRES) in cooperation with the Nordic Observatory for Digital Media and Information Disorders (NORDIS) prepared and published a general policy brief “How to assess national resilience to online disinformation?” Comparing Finland and Lithuania”, which provides a comparative overview and analysis of the digital resilience of societies in Lithuania and Finland.
“This report presents the differences and similarities of the situation of digital resilience of the states of Lithuania and Finland, the most obvious of which is the declining trust in the media. Therefore, research is needed, it is necessary to create new technological instruments, with the help of which journalists could verify and provide verified information, which would help to strengthen the authority of the media”, the co-author of the document, head of the DIGIRES association and chief researcher, professor Auksė Balčytienė, said.
The report discusses how resilience against online disinformation can be understood, what indicators could be used to measure national resilience to online disinformation, and how comparative analyses can inform policies in terms of common practices and nationally-specific characteristics.
